What Are MIM Arrow Components?

An arrow is more than a shaft with feathers. The components at each end — the insert and point at the front, the nock at the rear — determine how the arrow flies, how it hits, and whether it survives the impact. These small metal parts carry outsized responsibility for accuracy and durability.

Arrow components manufactured through MIM bring consistency that machined and stamped alternatives struggle to match: identical weight piece-to-piece (±0.1 grain), concentric geometry for straight flight, and material properties that withstand repeated impacts into target butts, 3D foam animals, and — in hunting — bone.

The Arrow Component Precision Problem

In archery, consistency is everything. An arrow that weighs 0.5 grains more than its neighbor in the quiver will hit a different point at 70 meters. An insert that is 0.02 mm off-center will steer the arrow off-axis. A point that deforms on the first target impact won't group the same on the second.

Arrow Components We Manufacture

Field Points

Standard bullet-point and tapered field points for target practice. Weight range 75–300 grains in multiple diameters (5/16", 11/32", 17/64", 9/32"). The MIM process ensures the threaded shank is perfectly concentric with the point body — no wobble at impact.

Broadhead Adapters

Threaded adapters that convert field point threads to accept screw-in broadheads. Must maintain perfect concentricity under impact loads exceeding 300 ft-lbs of kinetic energy from modern compound bows.

Inserts (Standard & Half-Out)

Internal threaded inserts glued into the arrow shaft. Standard inserts sit fully inside the shaft; half-out inserts feature a shoulder that sits against the shaft face for increased strength and easier broadhead alignment. MIM produces the full thread profile including internal hex drive.

Nock Bushings & Pin Adapters

Aluminum and stainless steel bushings that reinforce the arrow nock end. Pin nock adapters for target arrows require precise internal taper and thread geometry — a perfect MIM application.

Custom Weighted Balance Components

Tungsten-heavy alloy inserts and weight systems for fine-tuning arrow Front of Center (FOC) balance. MIM allows blended tungsten-stainless feedstocks for density tuning.
